Alfombras
One of the traditions here in Leon is to make alfombras. These are images made of dyed saw dust that they create in the middle of the street. There are tons and tons of these. Here are a couple of pictures that I took. This first one is a couple of kids putting the finishing touches on a cross.

yay, i'm glad i finally got to see these. they seem so elaborate for something that will just be wiped away in (how long?) a week or so's time? i wonder where they get all the saw dust from.
Actually, they only last for about a day, and then they clean them up because people need to use the street.
